Vancouver FX is a working special effects studio and private training facility built for artists who want more than tutorials and theory. Our in-person classes and workshops focus on industry-proven techniques used in TV, film, and commercial production, covering special effects makeup, prosthetic character creation, anatomy and sculpture, mold making, airbrushing, life casting, 3D modeling, and 3D printing.
Whether you’re building foundational skills or refining an existing FX practice, our courses are designed to be hands-on, production-focused, and taught by active TV & Film industry professionals. In The Studio - FX Student Class Work
Students receive extensive hands-on training while working inside a fully equipped, professional FX studio environment. Under the guidance of FX artist and instructor Dallas Harvey, students spend the majority of their time actively sculpting, molding, casting, painting, and fabricating practical effects using industry-standard tools, materials, and workflows.
Classes are structured to mirror real on-set and shop conditions, giving students direct experience problem-solving, refining techniques, and producing portfolio-ready FX work with expert feedback throughout the process.
