Special Effects Makeup For Beginners

The Special FX Makeup for Beginners course is a hands-on introduction to professional special effects makeup techniques used in film and television. Designed for those new to FX makeup, the course covers essential tools, materials, and safety practices while teaching students how to create realistic cuts, bruises, burns, scars, and basic prosthetic applications.

Working in a supportive, studio-based environment with all materials provided, students gain practical experience and a strong foundation in industry-standard techniques, making this course an ideal starting point for anyone interested in exploring special effects makeup.

3 Monday Night Classes (Weekly) | 7PM–10PM

What you will learn:

- Understanding FX makeup palettes, tools & brushes

- Skin prep, adhesives & safe product use

- Creating cuts, burns, bruises & scars

- Blending edges and texture layering

- Color matching and realism techniques

- Troubleshooting common FX challenges

- Applying 3D Transfer & Foam Latex Prosthetics

- Coloring 3D Transfer & Foam Latex Prosthetics

- Practical application on live models

All materials provided. No experience required.

All makeup products, materials, tools, and supplies are fully provided by the instructor for the duration of the class. Students do not need to bring anything with them, and no prior makeup or special effects experience is required. This workshop is designed to be beginner-friendly while still teaching professional, industry-standard techniques in a hands-on learning environment.
