In this intensive one-day, hands-on FX workshop, students will learn professional techniques for designing and fabricating custom creature, horror, and character teeth using industry-standard dental FX materials and processes.
Whether you want to create vampire fangs, rotting teeth, monster dentures, supernatural characters, or disturbing horror designs, this workshop introduces the complete process of creating custom-fitted dental effects from impression through final coloration and finishing.
Designed for aspiring FX artists, makeup artists, filmmakers, haunted attraction artists, cosplayers, and Halloween enthusiasts, the workshop combines hands-on fabrication with live instructor demonstrations and professional techniques used for film, television, theatre, and character effects.
What You’ll Learn
Dental Impressions & Lifecasting
Learn how to properly and safely take alginate dental impressions and create accurate positive casts of the teeth and gums that can be used to design custom dental appliances.
Designing Custom Character Teeth
Explore how tooth shape, length, spacing, damage, decay, and silhouette can completely transform a character. Learn how to design dental effects for horror, fantasy, creatures, monsters, vampires, and other character concepts.
Custom Acrylic Dental Appliances
Learn the process of creating custom-fitted acrylic dental appliances using your dental cast, including professional fabrication techniques for creating durable, wearable character teeth.
Horror & Creature Finishing
Turn clean dental appliances into believable character effects using professional layered coloration, staining, aging, and detailing techniques.
Students will learn techniques for creating:
Vampire and creature fangs
Rotten and decayed teeth
Discoloration and staining
Aged and damaged teeth
Character gum coloration
Organic texture and detailing
Horror and supernatural dental designs
Hands-On Professional FX Training
This workshop is primarily hands-on, supported by live instructor demonstrations and technical lectures throughout the day.
Students will gain practical experience while learning the complete professional workflow behind creating custom dental effects that can be adapted for film productions, Halloween characters, haunted attractions, cosplay, theatre, photography, and special events.
All required materials, products, and tools are included in the tuition.
Students are encouraged to bring a notepad for reference notes and a camera or phone to document techniques and their work throughout the workshop.
No previous sculpting, makeup, dental FX, or art experience is required.
Upon successful completion of the workshop, students will receive a Certificate of Completion signed by the instructor.
